Kyle Eddy has 20 years of experience bridging product development and operations in the Data Storage and Telecommunications industries. Nearly half of that time involved direct management experience in Asia, where he has demonstrated success in building and integrating international development and analysis teams. His roots are in automatic control systems, which focuses on automated, data-based decision-making.
Kyle spent over 15 years at Seagate where he led both design center product development and factory NPI teams. On assignment in Asia, he integrated factory operations data analysis teams across seven vertically integrated factories in 4 countries into a single team, deploying best practices in process control and enabling global optimization of key operations metrics. With Avaya, he built an engineering team and analysis laboratory in south China to engage Avaya’s manufacturing partners in quality improvement and product cost reduction. As leader of Seagate’s enterprise servo firmware development team, he integrated teams across multiple design centers, and developed best in class development tools and firmware development processes. His work in servo control for hard disk drives earned him four patents in the field.
Kyle holds an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. His undergraduate work included Washington University in St. Louis where he earned a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Connecticut College where he earned a B.A. in both Physics and Mandarin Chinese.
