Rafael Demetri has extensive experience employing statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve real-life problems. He has strong technical and programming skills, and he is committed to applying rigorous analytical methods to help firms operate more efficiently and make data-driven decisions.
Rafael worked for over seven years researching and developing digital signal processing applications. While at LINSE, a research laboratory of the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Brazil, Rafael worked on issues such as adaptive filtering, speech recognition, and biometric speaker identification. He focused on translating state-of-the-art academic research into efficient, deployment-ready applications. Rafael has also worked with management consulting firm Bain & Co., where he applied his analytical skills to solving complex and ambiguous business problems. More recently, he was Product Marketing Manager at ClearSlide, a tech startup in San Francisco, where he was responsible for pricing and packaging decisions and for conducting value realization studies with customers.
Rafael has an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC, Brazil).
